Kentucky New Era obit posted 11/17/1990 reads as follows:

Obie B. Barnett, 97, Trigg County, died at 1:10am Friday at St. Thomas Hospital, Nashville, Tenn., following a short illness.

Services will be at 2pm Sunday at Goodwin Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joe James officiating, and burial in Barnett Cemetery, Trigg County.

Visitation will be from 5-8 tonight at the funeral home.

A Trigg County native, he was born May 11, 1893, son of the late John Obanion and Telitha Jane Sholar Barnett. He was a member of Oakland United Methodist Church, Trigg County, and a retired farmer and carpenter. His first wife, Connie Futrell Barnett, and five children preceded him in death.

Survivors include his current wife, Irene Lawrence Barnett; two sons, Charles Obie Barnett, Lafayette, and Bernard E. Barnett, Cadiz; two daughters, Sara Jane Insco, Bloomington, Ind., and Lillie Worth Tomlinson, Clarinda, Iowa; and seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
