Orange Farmer Taken By Death
Phillip D. Arras, 76. Expires--Funeral to be Held at Jenera Friday.
Phillip D. Arras, 76, Orange township farmer, passed away at 12:40 o'clock yesterday noon. Apoplexy was the cause of death. He had been in ill health since May when he suffered a stroke.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 o'clock Friday morning from the Jenera Trinity Lutheran church, with Rev. J. Gauss officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.
The son of John and Margaret Arras, he was born in Eagle township on Aug. 10, 1853. He lived in Hancock County all his life.
He was married on April 19, 1877 to Lucinda Neff, who survives with two children. They are L. J. Arras, at home, and Mrs. Jacob Schaller, of Orange township. Five children preceded him in death.
He was the last of a family of six children. Mr. Arras was a member of the Jenera Trinity Lutheran Church.
