He worked for Standard Registrar for 10 years. Then, due to family concerns, he purchased and ran three gas stations in the Bay Area. After selling the gas stations, he entered the graphic arts business as business manager, retiring in 1989 from Alpha Phots. He had lived in the Lodi area for about 13 years.
Mr. Brown served in the U.S. Navy during World War II with special forces assigned to the care and transport of psychiatric patients from the war zone and later was part of the naval operation charge with the liberation of American POWs from Japan.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen Brown of Woodbridge; a son; a daughter; 12 brothers and sisters; and six grandchildren.
