Joseph A. Deakin
MIDVALE—Joseph A. Deakin, 57, a milling department employee of the United States Smelting Refining and Mining company died at his home 45 Second Avenue, Midvale, early Wednesday of a heart attack.

Mr. Deakin was born in Wellsvllle, October 18, 1883, a son of William and Anna Fordham Deakin. He came to Midvale 13 years ago and had been employed at the mill for 12 years.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Adeline Drage Deakin of Midvale: two sons, Edward Deakin of Richmond, Cal., and Carl J. Deakin of Midvale: four daughters. Mrs. Wynona Ball of Bingham, Mrs. Josephine Lance of Los Angeles, Cal., and Mrs. Dorothy Lance [possibly Lauce] and Miss Byrl Deakin, both of Midvale: a brother, Charles Deakin of Ephraim; three sisters. Mrs. May Fisher of Lower Lake Cal,; Mrs. Lillian Johnson of Santa Cruz, Cal.; and Mrs. Adella Morris of Salt Lake City, and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Midvale Second L. D. S. wand chapel. Burial will be in the Spanish Fork cemetery. Friends may call Friday at the C. I. Goff & Son mortuary In Midvale and Saturday prior to services at the family home In Midvale.
