1st Lt. US Navy. Thad was an automotive engineer and in management in General Motors, first in Anderson, Indiana and then in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Wherever he lived, he was an active volunteer for Boy Scouts of America and numerous civic organizations, as well in his United Methodist church affairs and with Kiwanis International. Thad first married Agnes Ann Henderson in 1942; they divorced in 1945.
