John was born on August 25, 1945 to Thomas and Evelyn Carter. Early in his life, he felt a calling to serve his country and decided to join the Navy Reserves at a young age. After retiring from the Navy Reserves, John settled down in MclCloud, OK and made it his home. John was a conservation man who liked to keep to himself, but his friends knew him as someone who loved god, his church, and was very involved with it. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newalla and hardly missed a Sunday morning. John was very proud and honored that he had the opportunity to serve his country with the up utmost dignity.
John is survived by one brother, Leo Carter of Edmond, OK.
He is preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services for john will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the First Baptist Church of Newalla, 20800 SE 59th street. Newalla,Ok. 74857, with burial to preceed at Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Newalla,Ok.
