June was born January 12, 1924, in Twin Falls, ID, to Roy Herbert McNeely and Merintha Elizabeth Hansen McNeely. She graduated as a Cadet Nurse from the LDS School of Nursing in Idaho Falls.
On June 3, 1952, she married Elwyn LaVoy Thomas in the Salt Lake City, Utah LDS Temple. They made their home in Idaho Falls, Idaho for the past 53 years. June worked as a registered nurse, and worked for a time as a child-care provider. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed crocheting, reading, gardening, playing games, and providing humanitarian service.
June is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, LaVoy Thomas of Idaho Falls, ID;
daughter, Michelle Thomas (Scott) Bell of Ogden, UT;
son, David LaVoy (Denise) Thomas of Ojai, CA;
daughter, Roxanne Thomas (Paul) Peterson of Orem, UT;
daughter, Jamie Thomas (Jeffery) Wheat of American Fork, UT;
son, Kevin Elias (Catherine) Thomas of Anchorage, AK;
18 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, and a great-grandson, LaVoy Scott Bell.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 3, 2014 at the Idaho Falls LDS Home Ranch Ward, 2051 S. Emerson (at East 21st Street and Higbee), with Bishop John Laird officiating. The family will visit with friends from 6:30-8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge, and from 10:00-10:45 a.m. prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the McCammon, Idaho cemetery.
