Mrs. Gahan passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2013 at her residence. She was born on August 16, 1935 in Fayetteville, Alabama to Claude Nickolson and Hattie Cooper Nickolson. She was an active member of Union Springs Baptist Church.

Mrs. Gahan dearly loved her children and grandchildren. She was a great cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. Her specialties included biscuits, blueberry cake, pecan pie and chicken and dumplings. Mrs. Gahan enjoyed talking to her sisters and children on the phone. She liked to dress up and was outspoken and feisty. Mrs Gahan was an Alabama football fan and enjoyed watching them play.

She is survived by her daughter, Carol Dean (Keith), of Alexander City; son, James Steven Morris (Bambi), of Daviston; grandchildren, Misti Bowen, Jill Worthy, Kristin Dean, Spencer Morris, Nick Morris, Brandon Smith, Adam Smith and Ashlee Smith; 6 great-grandchildren and sisters, Annie Marie Moore of Alexander City and Faye Posey of Birmingham.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Nickolson; mother, Hattie Cooper Nickolson; daughter, Peggy Lynn Smith; grandson, Craig Smith and five brothers.BELOVED MOTHER AND GRANDMOTHER
