Eli Fuller was born at Salisbury, Somerset County, Pennsylvania, March 18, 1822. He died in Newark, Greene County, Indiana, September 11, 1901, being well advanced in his eightieth year. He had been a consistent Christian and member of the Methodist Episcopal church during the last twenty-six years of his life. He was twice married. His first wife was Miss Jane HURST, with whom he lived eighteen years. She bore to him eight children, four sons and four daughters. Three sons and two daughters survive him. One son and two daughters with their mother preceded him to the other world. The second wife was Miss Hannah TRIBBY, with whom he lived for nearly forty years. This devoted, pious companion survives him. She is more lonely and sad, because of her very close and constant association with her husband during a long period of feeble health and helplessness. She is cheered with the consciousness of duty done, of services appreciated and of her husband's calm resignation. The work of the deceased has long since ended, but he leaves a vacancy in the hearts of many. The funeral services were held in the church at Newark, Thursday, September 12, conducted by the pastor assisted by J. A. BALDRIGE and Rev. Oscar CAYLOR. O.P.
