She was born on August 27, 1919 in Mount Pleasant, Utah, the daughter of Sidney Elmer and Mina Dunham Elmer. She married Rayfield Peterson on January 3, 1938, and was later divorced. She married John (Jack) Hunter on July 11, 1953 and he died on August 17, 1985.
She spent her childhood in Colton, Utah and Birdseye. She attended schools in Birdseye, Payson and Spanish Fork. After her marriage she lived in Thistle, Utah and later in Lake Shore. After they retired they moved to Spanish Fork.
She was a member of the LDS Church, and had been a visiting teacher for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers and was acitve in her local camp. She loved the out of doors and spent many summers fishing at Strawberry with her husband. She enjoyed traveling in her later years. She was an excellent homemaker and worked side by side with her husband on the farm in Lake Shore. She did beautiful crocheting, Knitting, quilts, and crafts of many kinds, that she gave to family and friends.
She is survived by two sons: Elden Peterson, Australia; George Peterson, Bradley Beach, New Jersey; a stepson: Robert Hunter, Spanish Fork and a stepdaughter: Ann Stallings; four sisters and one brother: Margaret Phamy, Mt. View, California; Betty Montague, Payson: Ruth Hoffman, Spanish Fork; Raary Barney, Boise, Idaho: Henry Elmer, Birdseye; 24 gandchildren and 41 great gandchildren.
Funeral services wer held Monday, November 16, 1992, in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery under the direction of Walker Mortuary of Spanish Fork.
