Pioneer Resident dies in California
Mrs. Maud PEMBERTON, 52 lived in this county many years
Funeral services for mrs. Maud PEMBERTON, 52, who died Sunday, December 24, after an extended illness took place at the Richmond chapel of Wilson and Kratzer Mortuary, December 30, 1944, at 1:30 p.m.
Mrs. PEMBERTON was born in TN, in 1892. Moved to Cleveland Co., near Corbett, in the year 1897. Most of her life was spent there, having moved to CA only three years ago. She had united with the Church of Christ, and was a devoted Christian mother.
Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. Janis POWERS, Mrs. June BENTLEY and Mrs. Clara STARR, all of Richmond. Three sons, Edward Dragoo Glaze of Richmond; Joel PEMBERTON, serving his country with the Navy somewhere in the south pacific, for the past six months; Don PEMBERTON serving with the Army somewhere in India, for the past fourteen months. The two boys could not be located or returned home, as both were in enemy territory.
Mrs. PEMBERTON is also survived by four sisters, Mrs. Claudia TATE, Shafter, CA; Mrs. Eva HOWARD, Pampa, TX; Mrs. Blanche LEWIS and Mrs. Maggie MALLOW, both of Bakesfield, CA.
The Rev. Robert PRICE, of the Richmond Church of Christ, officiated at the services and commital at the sunset view cemetery in Richmond.
