Gerald "Jerry" Miles, 60, of Alpharetta, Ga., a former resident of Owen County, Ky., died Sunday, July 18, 2004, in Alpharetta.
He was born July 9, 1944, in Owen County, the son of Luther Lewis and Mabel Hayden Miles. He retired from the Atlanta field office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1996 after 34 years of service. He joined the F.B.I. in 1962 as a fingerprint technician and became a special agent in 1969. He had been chosen as Mr. Atlanta in 1986 in a body building competition.
Surviving are one daughter, Kellie Neve of Seattle, Wash.; two sons, Luke Miles of Alpharetta and Shane Miles of Dunwoody, Ga.; one sister, Adella Edwards of Vevay; and one granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services will be at noon EDT Saturday at the Carrollton, Ky., IOOF Cemetery.
Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon EDT Saturday at the Tandy-Eckler-Riley Funeral Home in Carrollton.
