GTD Quality Control Mgr. Alberti Dies
Robert H. Alberti, 69, of56 Country Club Rd,, died suddenly this morning at home.
He was born in Greenfield July 1, 1904, the son of Louis and Harriet (Daniels) Alberti and was a lifelong resident of Greenfield. He married the former Marjorie Streeter in Greenfield October 24, 1936.
He was a quality control manager at Greenfield Tap and Die for 24 years retiring in 1969. He was a graduate of Greenfield High School and Worcester Tech, class of 1926. Before his employment at GTD he was employed by the U. S. Coast Guard and Geodetic Survey and prior to that he was a civil engineer on the Cobble Mountain Dam project for Springfield.
Besides his widow, he leaves a son, John D. of Amherst; two daughters, Karen A. Alberti at home and Gretchen A. Gritz of South Deerfield; two brothers, J. Norman of Longmeadow and Francis of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Bass of St. John, Virgin Islands, and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at Second Congregation Church with Rev. Roderick W. Hurlburt officiating. Burial will be in Green River Cemetery. Visiting hours at Hodgen Funeral Home will be Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.
