LENORA M. BENNETT PORTAGE, IN Lenora M. Bennett, age 81, a resident of Portage passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2013. She was born on July 2, 1931 in Varina, IA, the daughter of Harold and Helena (nee Coleman) Hunt. Lenora was married to Marion P. Bennett in Centerville, IA on May 27, 1948. Lenora was an active member at Evergreen Memorial Baptist Church in Hobart, where she loved teaching Sunday school and singing in the choir. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend to all. Lenora is survived by her loving family; three sons: Ronald (Sue) Bennett of Hobart, Kevin (Susan Knuth) Bennett of Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and Richard (Heidi Hill) Bennett of Cincinnati, OH; brother, Shelby (Evelyn) Hunt of NM; two sisters: Orleatha (Ed) Walker of Portage and Lois (Bob) Kroeger of Oregon; nine grandchildren; two step grandchildren; one great grandchild; and other loving family and dear friends. Lenora was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Marion P. Bennett; parents; daughter, Cheryl Payne; brothers: Merle Hunt, Richard Hunt, Roger Hunt, and Dale Hunt; sisters: Leanna Burkland and Florence Crowder. Funeral services for Lenora will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Road, Hobart. Burial will follow at Heritage Cemetery in Portage.
