Marvin Wallace Wagner, a life- long resident of Albany, LA, born March 9, 1931, went to be with his heavenly Father on Friday December 20, 2013. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Marilyn Annice (Welch) Wagner; three sons, Mark Randall Wagner (Rose), Clinton Wallace Wagner (Angie), Jeffrey Lee Wagner (Susan); grandchildren, Jonathan and Mathew Wagner and Kristen Wagner; also survived by brothers, Franklin, Grady, Carlton and Wayne Wagner; sisters, Claudia Morgan, Amora Henry, Wilhelmina Westmoreland, Geraldine Albin; and many much loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmett & Eunice (Davis) Wagner; brothers, Malcolm and Robert; and sister, Kathleen Garon.
Marvin proudly served as a Staff Sargent in U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He retired from South Central Bell, and later from his own company Wagner Telephone. As a member of Old Zion Hill Baptist Church most of his life, and Deacon Emeritus, and as a Gideon, he faithfully served our Lord Jesus.
Known for his gentle spirit and generous nature with a touch of humor, he was a much loved and a wonderful husband and Dad.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond. Visitation will resume on Monday, December 23, 2013 at 8:00 am until funeral service begins at 11:00 am at Harry McKneely & Son Funeral Home in Hammond.
Interment will follow in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Albany, Louisiana.
