Luella Alice Morris Mix Was born in Meade County October 6, 1862, died December 10, 1923, age 61 years, 2 months and 4 days. At the age of 18 she united with the Christian church at Shaffers Ridge, and later in life became a member of the Presbyterian church at Leavenworth. She was united in marriage to James H. Mix December 23, 1886. To this union twelve children were born, four daughters and eight sons all of whom survive the mother in death.
She leaves to mourn their loss a devoted husband, four daughters, Mrs. Mayme Trobaugh, of Fredonia; Mrs. Lillie Libka, of Jeffersonville; Mrs. Pansy Callon, of North Vernon; Ruth, of Leavenworth; eight sons, Jesse L., Alva, Arthur, Elmer R., Luther L., Theodore,
Russell D. and John Walker Mix, all of Leavenworth; two sisters, Mrs. Laura Greene, of Sunny Side, Wash.; Mrs. Mollie Lynch, of Patoka; two brothers, William and Charles Morris, of Leavenworth; and her aged mother, Mrs. Nancy E. Morris, of Leavenworth.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon December 11th in the Leavenworth M.E. church by the pastor Rev. E.A. Boston, assisted by Rev. Leo S. Lovell, of Kent, and interment was in Cedar cemetery.

Mrs. James Mix is seriously ill and all her children were summoned to her bedside Sunday. Later - Mrs. Mix died Monday evening at 7:00 o'clock.
