Funeral services for T A Peavyhouse were held on Sunday, March 30 at 2 p.m. at the Baptist Church in Crab Orchard. Mr Peavyhouse died at Vanderbilt Hospital, Nashville on Thursday, March 27 after a lingering illness.
Thomas Asbury Peavyhouse was born in Rockwood June 30, 1900 and died March 27, 1952. At the age of 6, he moved with his parents, Mr and Mrs G W Peavyhouse, to Crab Orchard. There in 1917 he married Mamie Hembree, who survives.
Other survivors include 2 sons, Volney, Harriman; George, in the Air Force in Japan; 1 daughter, Mrs Ed Foland, Rockwood; 4 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Dallas, Crab Orchard; Ervin, Cumberland Homesteads; John and Virge, Jamestown.
Mr Peavyhouse was a leading merchant of the community for the past several years.
