LINCOLN ANSON DAYNES was born December 15, 1916 in Salt Lake City, Utah, son of John Frederick Daynes and Mary Ann Lyon Anson. His father owned Daynes Jewelry Co. in Salt Lake City.

During World War II, he married Betty Daynes, a returned missionary, daughter of Joseph Stras Peery and Julina Clarissa Smith Peery on January 1, 1942 in Evanston, Wyoming. They were together much of the time during his four years of service, in Florida and San Francisco area.
He was a navigator in the U.S Air Corps, flying missions from San Francisco to Australia, New Guinea, and the Pacific Islands.
Their first child was born in August 1946, after the war, followed by four more children. Their home was in Salt Lake City. Later, they built a new home at 5861 Shangri Lane in Holladay, a suburb of Salt Lake City.
