Samuelson, Walter Atheus. Born May 2, 1890, Andover, Illinois. Son of Mr. and Mrs. S. P. Samuelson, Sargeant, Minn. Occupation, farming. Residence, Rose Creek, Minn. Entered service July 26, 1918 at Austin. Assigned to Supply Co., 55th Pioneer Infantry. Trained at Camp Wadsworth and Camp Stuart. Embarked for Europe Sept., 1918. Died of pneumonia, Oct. 24, 1918. He was the eldest of a family of eight children. Beside father and mother he left brothers and sisters as follows: Mrs. George Christianson of Adams, Naomi, Wilfred, Martin, Hilda, Waldemar and Mamie.
