Calvin Wakefield, who for many years resided on a farm just east of this village, died Sunday morning of pneumonia, aged 81 years. Mr. Wakefield was a successful farmer, a good citizen, and always enjoyed the respect and confidence of all. Twenty two years ago he sustained a stroke of paralysis, which affected his speech, but he was able, to go about by the use of a chair, which he used in place of a cane. His wife died several years ago, and his son, Roland Wakefield, was drowned a few years since while crossing the flats near Castorland. Two brothers and one sister survive, Benjamin Wakefield of Martinsburg; John Wakefield, of New Bremen, and Mrs. Griffith, of Watson
