Dorothy (Steineder) May, 89, of Vineland, passed away on Sunday afternoon in the Eagleview Nursing Center, Pittsgrove, New Jersey.
She was born and raised in Vineland where she remained a lifelong citizen. She was the daughter of the late Verna Mae (Frost) and Rudolph Steineder, wife of the late Theodore W. "Ted" May and the mother of the late Jane Chapman.
Before retiring, Dorothy was employed as the school nurse at the Memorial School of Vineland. She had previously worked as a private duty nurse and also as the head nurse at Rainbow Nursing Center. She was a member of the Rebekah's and the First United Methodist Church of Vineland.
She was survived by a daughter; Judith and Hank Montizaan, son; Theodore W. "Ted" May, Jr. and Linda Young, son-in-law; William Chapman; grandchildren; Chelsea Chapman, Anne Christine and Angelo Abate, Jennifer Lynn and Louis Sacco, Kristian J. and Reshal Montizaan, Holland Mae and Christopher Baker, Cody William and Jani Lee Montizaan, Tyler Hendrik Montizaan and ten great-grandchildren, brother; Wayne G. Steineder and wife Jeanne, sister-in-law; Doreen Dyer, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services at the First United Methodist Church, 7th and Landis Avenue, Vineland, New Jersey. Burial will be in the Siloam Cemetery, Vineland, New Jersey.
