Funeral services for Ellis M. Killgore, age 86 of Ruston, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, November 6, 2010 at Owens Memorial Chapel in Ruston with Rev. Hulen Warren officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Ruston under the direction of Owens Memorial Chapel Funeral Home of Ruston.

Mr. Killgore was born March 27, 1924 in Lisbon to Millard B. Killgore and Alice Monk Killgore. He died at his home in Ruston November 4, 2010.

Mr. Killgore served in the US Navy during WWII. In his professional career, he was a professor of Mechanical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. In his spare time, Mr. Killgore enjoyed woodworking. He made beautiful furniture and clocks for his family.

Mr. Killgore is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mona Hall Killgore; his three daughters: Deborah and husband Roy LaBorde of Hessmer, Louise and husband Richard Miller of Pittsburgh, PA and Donna and husband Sam Pearson of Bentonville, AR; five grandchildren: Angel and husband Sean Case, Brandon Miller and wife Dianna, Christopher Miller, Bailey Pearson and Paul Pearson; one great granddaughter: Sophia Miller; three brothers: Ralph Killgore of Winnfield, Ray Killgore of Haynesville, Charles Killgore of Ruston; two sisters: Nellie Jean Dean and Sandra Meissler, both of Lisbon as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Audrey Johnson and one brother Louis Killgore.
