The people of Marion were greatly shocked yesterday forenoon when it became known that W. C. Bryant, the widely known horse dealer, had suddenly died at his home in this city. At the time of his death he was about to undergo an operation for hemorrhoids, a small quantity of ether having been administered, when he was seized with vomiting, convulsions and cerebral hemorrhage, from which he died.

Mr. Bryant had known for some time that an operation was necessary in order to prolong his life. In response to a telegram sent to his daughter, Miss Ursula, who holds a government position in Washington D.C., she will arrive this afternoon over the Northwestern. The message did not say that her father was dead, but said to come home at once. It is expected that the funeral will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
