He retired 14 years ago after working as a cabinetmaker for Rickerson Woodworking Co., where he was employed 47 years. He was a member of the Carpenters Union of Hartford.
He leaves two sons, George Bauer of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Paul Bauer of Lexington, Mass.; two brothers, Wolfgang Bauer of Newington and Henry Bauer of West Germany; two grandsons, Robert Bauer of Mount Pleasant, SC. and Daniel H. Bauer of Lexington, Mass.
