NEW OXFORD CHILD DIES IN ACCIDENT

Judith Ann Breighner, Five, Fatally Injured When Car Driven By Her Mother Crashes Into Tree
Judith Ann Breighner, five–year–old daughter of William E. and Lucretia ((Orndorff) [sic] Breighner, 344 Lincolnway West, New Oxford, was fatally injured when an automobile driven by her mother hit a tree stump and overturned on the Lincoln Highway, two miles west of York, about 3.15 o’clock yesterday afternoon.
The child’s mother and two other occupants of the car were treated at the West Side Osteopathic hospital, West York, for injuries suffered in the crash. Mrs. Breighner had lacerations of the head; Mrs. Clarence Long, 23, McSherrystown, head and body injuries.
State police at York said Mrs. Breighner’s auto ran off the pavement and in attempting to get back on the operator lost control. The car struck a tree stump and rolled over.
Surviving Judith Ann besides her parents are a sister and brother, Gayle L. and William E., Jr., at home; the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Annie Orndorff, McSherrystown, and her paternal grandfather, Carl Breighner, New Oxford.
Prayers at the Fred F. Feiser funeral home, New Oxford, tomorrow at 1:30 p. m. will precede graveside services at 2 o’clock in St. Mary’s cemetery, New Oxcford. The Rev. Robert D. Hartnett, rector of the Church of Immaculate Conception, New Oxford, will officiate. Friends may call at the funeral home between 7 and 9 o’clock this evening.
