Edith was a first cousin to Tollef Brevig, who was born in MN. Both Edith and Tollef are descendants of Norwegian Lutheran immigrants who came to Minnesota in the 1800's. Tollef lived in Alaska at Reindeer Station from the late 1890's until his wife died there in 1908. The village was later named to Brevig Mission in the honor of Tollef and his wife, who became not only beloved missionaries, but who raised their children to speak the Inupiat language of the village people.
Edith studied in Wisconsin and lived there most of her adult life. She married Charlie Brace and they are buried together. We have no information if Edith and Charlie had children. Edith's obituary appeared in the LaCrosse Tribune, October 19, 1997.
