Minnie Heape, 91, of Tamaroa, passed away at 7:48 A.M., Tuesday, December 24, 2013 at the Fairview Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Du Quoin.
Minnie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Sunfield United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Perry County Homemakers Association and the Tamaroa Eastern Star Lodge.
She was born May 8, 1922, at Du Quoin, IL, the daughter of Jack and Hattie Jane (Lemmons) Bishop.
Minnie married Loren G. Heape on October 6, 1940 at Du Quoin, IL and he preceded her in death on May 11, 2009.
She is survived by five children, Bobby Heape and wife, Kay, Lucille Woodside and husband, Dennis, Phillip Heape and wife, Carole, John Heape and wife, Cindy and Carroll Heape and wife, Karen; eighteen grandchildren; thirty two great- grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Archie Bishop and Jackie Bishop; three sisters, Esther Rainwater, Bernice Bailey and Margaret Ann Davis and two grandchildren, Renee Shirk and Josh Heape.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, December 27, 2013 at the Sunfield United Methodist Church in Sunfield with Rev. Donna Blythe officiating. Friends may call from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at the church on Friday. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Park at Du Quoin.
Friends may make memorials to the Sunfield United Methodist Church Building Fund and will be accepted at the funeral home.
