Dorothy was born May 4, 1927 at Humboldt, Kansas to William Martin and Georgia Hazel (Doyle) Benson. She was raised and received her education there, graduating Humboldt high school; Dorothy then moved to Chanute, Kansas where she worked for the Santa Fe railroad. On October 31, 1948, she and B.F. Sadler were united in marriage at Wewoka, OK. To this union, three daughters were born. Because of Mr. Sadler's work with the pipeline, they resided in 38 states. In 1963 they moved to Tulsa where they lived for seventeen years. In 1985, Owasso became home. Dorothy worked for the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association for many years as a specialized mail reader in their correspondence department. She was a member of Christ's Church of Owasso. Dorothy was an accomplished seamstress and quilter, having made clothing and quilts for many in the family. She also enjoyed crafts and was an excellent sketch artist.
