SHREVEPORT, LA - Mrs. Dorothy (Dot) Davis Bumgardner, 80, passed away on Friday, May 27, 2005 after a brief illness.
Visitation will be held at Osborn Funeral Home on Saturday, May 28, 2005 from 11 a.m. until service time. Funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 28, 2005 in the Chapel of Osborn Funeral Home.
Officiating will be Rev. Beth Love Tu'uta of Morningside United Methodist Church. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Bumgardner was a native and lifelong resident of Shreveport. She was a graduate of C. E. Byrd High School and a member of Morningside United Methodist Church. She retired after 26 years of service as a Sears Service Employee. Mrs. Bumgardner was very active in the PTA, Girl Scouts and was the Treasurer of the Methodist Women's Group.
Mrs. Bumgardner was preceded in death by her parents, Helen K. and Robert M. Davis; husband, Francis M. Bumgardner; and son, Robert Marion Bumgardner.
She is survived by her two daughters, Faye Schlehuber of Shreveport and Carole Weideman of Ft. Worth, TX; five grandchildren, Michael Schlehuber and Steven Schlehuber both of Panama City, FL, Martin Stoker of Shreveport, Kelly Stoker of Rowlett, TX, and Samantha Weideman of Fort Worth, TX; one great grandchild; one brother, Robert Milton Davis, Jr. of Shreveport; and one sister, Margaret Montet of Seattle, WA.
The family requests that memorials be made to the Morningside United Methodist Church.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of Willis-Knighton Medical Center North 5th floor West Wing and to Rev. Beth Love Tu'uta.
