The Barnesville Enterprise: Mrs. Isaac Hager - The sudden death of Mrs. Isaac Hager on North Broadway Wednesday evening came as a great shock to her family and neighbors. She had been in ill health for two years past but seemed as well as usual that day. Shortly after eating her dinner she was stricken with indigestion, and she only lived for twenty minutes. Sarah Hager was born in Grayesville, Monroe Co., Ohio on September 29, 1858 and was the daughter of Joshua and Jane Poulton. In early life they lived in Temperanceville, where she lived for many years. On February 6, 1877 she married James Maguire of that neighborhood who died thirty four years ago. To that union three children were born all of whom are living: Mrs. M. A. Slevin, Akron; Frank E. Maguire, Wheeling; and Annie Hunkler of Barnesville. She also leaves two brothers: D. E. Poulton, Los Angeles and W. C. Poulton, Temperanceville. Twenty eight years ago, the deceased with her family moved to Barnesville where she was known as a good neighbor and kind friend. One year later, she was married to Isaac Hager who passed away two years ago and since that time she has been on the decline not being able to leave her home many times. Mrs. Hager was a life-long and devout member of the Church of the Assumption and adhered strickly to that faith, living her Christianity. Funeral arrangements have not been completed at this time, but probably will be held Saturday morning at the church of her choice conducted by Rev. J.G. Mehler. Burial will be made in the Catholic Cemetery.
