Bernard J. Rezy, 104, died December 22, 2013. Bernie was a native of Wisconsin, born in Reedsville on November 13, 1909, moved to Milwaukee where he attended schools at St. Elizabeth, Messmer High and Marquette University. He moved to Toledo in 1934 where he worked for Libby-Owens-Ford Glass Co. (now Pilkington) helping to develop and manufacture the first double insulating glass, Thermopane. He worked for 39.5 years, retiring as Plant Manager on June 1, 1973. In 1976, Bernie and his wife, Eve moved to Pensacola, living on Perdido Key. He was an active member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and supporter of various charities. His loving wife Eve, married for 55 years, preceded him in death. Survivors include four children, Bernard J. Jr. and Robert J., both of Danville, IN, Carol L. of Sylva, NC and Rita R. of Toledo, OH, three grand daughters, Ginger Rezy, Cathi Rezy and Tricia Schroeder. There will be no visitation, but a Rosary before the memorial service at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Pensacola, FL, to be held at a later date. A niche has been prepared in the mausoleum Holy Cross Cemetery in Pensacola, FL.
