Widow of the Rev E H Buist, Formerly of Cheraw
Cheraw, Feb 8 [1906] -- The remains of Mrs Carrie S Buist were brought from Charleston yesterday morning at 11:30 o'clock and the services were conducted by Rev A H McArn, pastor of the Presbyterian church, at St David's Cemetery, where she was laid to rest by the side of her husband and son.
Mrs Buist was greatly loved and honored here where she formerly lived, her husband Rev E H Buist, having been the Pastor of the Presbyterian church for 13 years. Her sweet and lovely character endeared her to all with whom she came in contact, and although it has been many years since she lived in this town, she is still lovingly remembered.
Mrs Buist is survived by five daughters and one son: Mrs Lamb Perry of Charleston, Mrs Hope of Japan, Mr Arthur Buist of Alabama, Mrs Thompso of Washington, DC, and Misses Etta Buist and Mattie Buist of Charleston. The remains were accompanied to Charleston by her two youngest daughters, Misses Etta and Mattie Buist, and son in law, Mr Lamb Perry.
