Funeral services for Jackie L. Callen Sr., 69, of Milburn, were held Friday, Dec. 28, at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist Church in Milburn, Rev. Darrel Heath officiating, assisted by Rev. Richard Corn. Interment followed in the Bold Springs Cemetery. Mr. Callen passed away on Monday, Dec. 24, 2007, at his home.


Jackie was born Nov. 14, 1938, at the Callen homeplace near the Bold Springs community to Clinton Woodrow Callen and Luella Mae Darbison Callen. He attended Milburn Schools and later married Janie Faye Dean on April 20, 1957, in Fillmore. He spent many years in the trucking business, and since 1970 had been a farmer and rancher.


He was preceded in death by his father; his son, Steven Glenn Callen; his brother, Leo Laroice "Jaybird" Callen and his sister, Glenda Sullivan.


Jackie is survived by his wife Janie of the home; his son, Jackie L. Callen, Jr. of Milburn; three daughters, Tambra Denise Dilbeck and her husband Mryl of Ponca City, Teresa Jane Belcher and Tonia Lea Callen, both of Milburn; his mother, Luella Tussy of Tishomingo; his sister, Judy Morrow and husband Bill of Tishomingo; 11 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.


Pallbearers for the service were Myrl Dilbeck, Tom Vestal, Matt Dean, Clint Morrow, David Isenberg and Wade Whittington. Honorary bearers were George Branch, Delton Dean, Rodger Whittington, Bill Morrow, Andy Johnson, Franklin Stallings and Alton Cole.


Services were held under the direction of Clark Funeral Service, Tishomingo.
