William J. "Bill" Krochmal, age 92, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, December 17, 2013.

Veteran of the U.S. Army during World War II. Retired from Kankakee Industrial formerly the Robert Pilcher Paper Company after 30 years. Member of St. Thaddeus Catholic Church before its closing and currently a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. Member of the VFW Cantigny Post 367. Bill was an avid baseball fan and enjoyed both the Chicago Cubs and White Sox.

Survived by a daughter, Georgene (James) Miller; three grandchildren, Jim and Jeff Miller and Ellie Lightner; four great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ryan Miller, Tony (Jennifer) and Chris Lightner; two great-great-grandchildren, James and Olivia Lightner. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by his wife, Rose Krochmal in 2005; his parents, Adam and Mary Krochmal; a sister, Julia (John) Remko and a brother, Walter (Diane) Krochmal.

Private family services were held with interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
