Mortuary Notice: Funeral of Mrs. Henry – The funeral of Mrs. George L. Henry occurred from the home of her father, Mr. H.S. Duffee, No. 715 Front street, yesterday afternoon at 3 o'clock. The service was conducted by Rev. W.B. Carter, of Girard. The following gentlemen were pall bearers: Messrs. J.G. Ryckeley, Jas. Matthews, John Harvis, J. J. Joines and J.B. Mell.
∼Reported age at time of death was 35 years, so evidently born about 1858.
Mary Jane Galer's list of persons interred in the New Cemetery area of Linwood shows: Naurie L. HENRY, female, died aged 35 years of T.B. [= tuberculosis]; buried 15 NOV 1893 in Section C, Lot 95 - Sexton Abraham ODOM.
This grave is probably not identifiably marked. The most likely location is Dolores Autry's Section J, Lot 24, as the following individuals are all reported in the Sexton's record to be buried in Section C, Lot 95, and have marked graves in Autry's J-24: Anna Leila SCHLEY GORDY (buried 03 MAR 1896 or 1898, aged 34 years); John Thomas GORDY (1855-1900); Connie LEDSINGER GORDY (1872-1949); Sallie COLE GORDY (1892-1970); Schley GORDY, Sr. (1888-1979); & Mary Leila GORDY (1883-1975).
