Bessie was the daughter of Samuel E. & Caroline "Carrie" M. Lennon Brimer. She suffered an injury to her leg, in 1916. In the era before antibiotics, she was a victim of recurrent infections at the site of the injury. Ultimately, Miss Brimer passed away from the effects of septicemia.
