John Mathews of 810 Tyrone Pike, Versailles Kentucky who was the husband of Jean McQueen Mathews died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005. John was born in Nicholasville and was the son of the late William Newton Mathews and Marjorie Hicks Mathews. John was an Army veteran who served primarily as a military policeman. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Nicholasville and Lawrenceburg. He was also a Shriner.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a sister named Phyllis "City" LaVerne Mathews Winfield (B: Nov 8, 1941) of Austin Texas. Interment was at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
