Emily L. Breck, 97, of Linton, passed away at 7:32 a.m., today, Dec. 11, 2001 at Glenburn Nursing Home in Linton. Born May 10, 1904 in Greene County, she was the daughter of David and Clara (Gabbard) Baughman. She was co-owner of Breck's Lumber Company from 1955 until she retired with her husband Clyde in 1973. She was a member, since 1935, of the First Baptist Church in Linton, participating as a choir member and nursery worker for several years. Survivors include, daughter, Doris Thornton of Linton; daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Wes Hensley of Linton; three grandsons, David Hensley and Mike Thornton of Linton, and Breck Hensley of Wheaton, Ill.; one granddaughter, Lori Cooper of West Terre Haute; one sister, Dorothy Brady of Linton; and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Breck in 1996; son-in-law, Keith Thornton in 1998; two brothers, Excel and Guy Baughman; and her parents. Funeral services will be at Welch & Cornett Linton Chapel at 10 a.m. on Thursday with the Rev. David Tyra officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
