CHARLES TOWN, W.Va. - Grafton Arthur Smith, 83, of Charles Town, died Saturday, Jan. 9, 1999, at Integrated Health Services of West Virginia, Charles Town.
Born March 15, 1915, in Loudoun County, Va., he was the son of the late Fairfax and Addie Frances Redman Smith.
He was a self-employed farmer in Jefferson County, W.Va.; and previously was employed by Knott Nursing Home, Charles Town.
He was of the Episcopal faith.
He was a member of the Jefferson County Council on Aging, and attended the Senior Center in Ranson, W.Va.
He was preceded in death by one sister and six brothers.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at Melvin T. Strider Colonial Funeral Home, Charles Town. The Rev. James Chambly will officiate. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Lincoln, Va.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
