Walter J. Becker, 87 and a former resident of Simeon Dewitt Apts. Died Saturday at Seneca Hill Manor. He was born in Rome, NY and was the son of the late Charles and Mary Ellen O'Brien Becker. Mr. Becker was the husband of the late Mary Helen VanNortwick Becker who died in 2002. He served in the US Army during WWII and had lived in the Minetto-Oswego area for over 60 years. Mr. Becker was employed for many years as a Hydro Mechanical Maintenance Foreman and specialized in welding with Niagara Mohawk. He was a Communicant of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. He is survived by one sister Margaret Silkworth, one daughter Mary Ellen (Donald) Faulkner of Michigan, 3 sons Stephen (Jamye) Becker of Oswego, Thomas (Jayne) Becker of South Carolina and Mark (Kandee) Becker of Scriba, eight grandchildren; Erich (Kellie) Becker, Alyson Becker, Stephanie Becker, Gretchen (Mark) Heichberger, Jason Faulkner, Sarah (Steve) Diegel, Joshua Becker and Justin Becker, one great grandson Logan Faulkner and one great granddaughter Marinna Heichberger, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Becker was predeceased by his twin brother William Becker and brothers Ernie Becker and Stanley Becker. Funeral services will be held Wed. 10:00AM from the Dain-Cullinan Funeral Home and at 10:30AM in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church (Minetto).
