THE PARIS NEWS, SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 9, 2014, PAGE A3 - Thelma Lee Aker, 60 of Paris, became an Angel of God on Jan. 31, 2014. Services will be at 2 p.m. on March 1, at Victory Baptist Church, 3155 Pine Mill Road, with graveside following immediately after memorial service at Bogota Cemetery. Thelma born in Big Spring, on Dec. 2, 1953, where she lived during childhood. Then the family moved to Paris where she attended Powderly High School in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Her and my dad, Joe Rosson were true soulmates and they ventured out to California for several years before moving back to Paris. Thelma held several positions at plants around Paris during her younger adulthood. Mom was Mrs. Donut at Southern Maid Donuts for years, as I remember, during childhood, then she moved to Louisiana for about ten years before moving back to Paris. Thelma was a beautiful person inside and out, with the biggest heart anyone could ask for. She would give you something of hers and not want anything in return. She lived a life most would consider abnormal but to her the little things we did for her made those big blue eyes shine and smile big as Texas. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Frank and Pearl Baxter James of Bogota, Jacob Henry Aker and Jessie Mae Purdy Aker of Abilene, Kan.; her parents, Everett Henry Aker Sr. and Maggie Jean Carroll Aker of Paris; and daughter Rebecca Jolynn Rosson of Paris. She is survived by one sister, Wilma Jean Villa of Paris; two brothers, Everett Henry Aker Jr. of Paris and Andrew Alfred Aker of Houma, La.; her son, Joel Lee Rosson of Decatur, Ala.; one grandson, Clayton Len Bowen of Cooper; and two grandkids, Jake Sawyer and Delaney Lee Rosson of Plymouth, Mich.
