He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Iris LaRae Summers Moulin. He is survived by his daughters, Tamara Bicknell (Mark) of Centerville, Michele Donoher (Paul) of Kettering, and Renee Stein (Pat) of Bellbrook; 6 grandchildren, Chelsea, Rob, Kevin, Shannon, Emily and Natalie; sister, Kathleen Swigert (John) of Vero Beach FL; and dear friends Tom and Eliza Webb of Dayton.
Gene received his B.A. from Mount Union College in 1956, M.Ed. and M.A. from Kent State University in 1959 and 1960, and Ph.D. from the University of Toledo in 1968. Among his many honors was recognition as UD's 1982 Professor of the Year. Gene proudly served our country as a commissioned officer in the United States Naval Reserve from 1951-1971, and participated enthusiastically in the privilege of citizenship as a lifelong Democrat. As passionate as Gene was in these endeavors, he will be remembered above all as a devoted husband, loving father, and doting grandpa.
