Theodore Eric "Ted" Sheets, 62, of Winamac, passed away at 10:15 a.m. Monday, Dec.
16, at his residence.

He was born Oct. 12, 1951, in Gary, to William and Imogene (Hall) Sheets.

Ted married Debra K. Weaver on May 3, 1975 in Pulaski. Debra survives.

He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era.

Ted had worked as a carpenter for many years. He and his son Wes owned and operated
T & W Construction in Winamac. Ted also worked in maintenance at the Ball
Corporation in Monticello.

Ted was a member of the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Winamac.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also
enjoyed woodworking and helping others.

Ted was awarded the Carnegie Hero Fund Award for an outstanding act of heroism in 2001.

Ted will be sadly missed by his friends and family.

Survivors include his wife Debra K. (Weaver) Sheets of Winamac; daughter Megan
[Cory] Dupuy of Brookston; son Wesley Eric [Tashia] Sheets of Winamac;
granddaughters: Alexis Sheets and Chelsea Dupuy; grandson Logan Dupuy; sisters:
Judith Kay Foerg-Jackson of Star City, Jacqueline Hartisch of Rochester, and Carey
M. Baugh of Winamac; and brothers William Sheets of Rochester, and Daniel Sheets of
Wichita Falls, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents William and Imogene (Hall) Sheets; daughter
Heather Sheets; brother Timothy Edward Sheets; sister Victoria Sue Thomas; two
nephews; and one niece.

A Scriptural wake service was held at 3 p.m. Dec. 19 at Frain Mortuary. Visitation
followed from 3-8 p.m. Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Dec. 20, at Frain Mortuary.
Father Leroy Kinnaman officiated. Burial took place in St. Peter's Cemetery in
Winamac. Military graveside services were conducted by the American Legion and VFW.

Memorial contributions may be given to Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance.
