Mrs. Hopkins was born April 17, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Edward T. and Ada (Kennard) Mallinson. She was educated in schools in the Greater New York City and Long Island area. She had been employed at Seth Thomas Clock as an import buyer and export coordinator, retiring in 1982. An active member of the Thomaston Covenant Church, she held several offices, including church secretary for seven years. She was also a member of the Northfield Women's Literary Club.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda H. Gillman of Leominster, Mass.; her son, Kenneth C. Hopkins Jr. and his wife, Ruth, of Thomaston; her brother, Dr. Edward T. Mallinson of Marlyand; four grandchildren, Nancy L. G. Saucier of Leominster, Mass., John H. Gillman of Gardner, Mass., Matthew P. Hopkins and Natalie A. Hopkins, both of Thomaston; and two great-grandchildren, Maya L. Saucier and Jackson A. Saucier, both of Leominster, Mass. She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth C. Hopkins Sr., who died in 1974, and her son-in-law, LTC John W. Gillman, who died in 2003.
Arrangements: Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 18, at 11 a.m. at the Covenant Church, 64 Grove St., Thomaston. Burial will be held in Hillside Cemetery in the spring.
