Tuesday, July 22, at 10 p.m., Gracie, eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank W. Blair. Gracie has never seemed well since having the measles about six weeks ago and during the last few days has been very ill with spinal meningitis, which fatally terminated her little life at the early age of nine years. She was a lovely little girl and it is a sad blow to the bereaved parents to give up their eldest born at such an early age. They have the sympathy of their many friends in this their sad bereavement. Many friends of Mr. and Mrs. Blair called at their residence Wednesday, to take a last look at the little one so well loved by all. At 2:30 p.m. the body was born to the M. E. church where Rev. Crowl of the Presbyterian church preached a very interesting discourse, after which the little one's remains were interred in Woodland cemetery. The floral offerings were many and beautiful, attesting to the warm affection which was so generally felt by all who knew her.

Nothing is our own. We hold our pleasures
Just a little while ere they are fled (?)
One by one life robs us of our treasures;
Nothing is our own---except our dead.

Oh we miss our little loved one,
But we know she's now at rest
For the angels came and took her
To dwell with them--the blest.

Our home's so sad without her
The dear home circle is broken,
But, we will not murmur,
For a higher power has spoken.

We laid away our little darling
Among the green pine trees,
But we know her living spirit
Is wafted home upon the breeze.
