DOERUN ? Leonard E. Baxley, 94, of Doerun died Tuesday, May 16, 2006, at Brownwood Nursing Home in Moultrie.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 18, at Hillcrest Cemetery in Sylvester with the Rev. Ronnie Howell officiating.
Born Sep. 15, 1911, in Monroe County, Ga., he was the son of the late William Joseph Baxley and the late Ada Goggins Baxley. He lived in Worth County most of his life and was a retired carpenter and farmer. He was a member of Union Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Cary M. Baxley.
Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Ila Shiver Baxley of Doerun; daughters, Barbara B. Kemp and husband David of Orange Park, Fla., and Mary B. Dickerson and husband Jimmy of Doerun; granddaughters, Karen Beasley of Doerun and Carole Lampley of Orange Park, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Jessie Beasley, Jacqueline and Kimberly Lampley; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends tonight, May 17, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Banks Funeral Home.
Banks Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
