Passed away peacefully February 3, 2009, at Hospice House. She was born on December 28, 1924 in Bottineau, North Dakota to Victor and Clara Johnson and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1942.
Addie began working during WW II at Farragut Navel Training Base where she met her husband to be. Addie and Al were married September 21, 1946. After starting her family, Addie began another career first as a volunteer in the 1950's with the YMCA handicapped swimming program. This led to a full time position as the front desk receptionist, from which she retired after 30 years of dedicated service.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Alfred Bays; son, Jim and wife Sherry Bays; daughters, Bonnie and husband Jim Williams, Debbie and husband, Bob Glaza and son Brian and wife, Pam Bays; seven grandchildren, Julie, Cheryl, Matt, Kevin, Becky, Tayler and Carlee; five great grandchildren, brother, Don Johnson and sister, Leota Bippes. She was preceded in death by parents and sisters, Viola Roland and Marlene Sampson-Auckerman; brothers, Norman, Laurel and Dick Johnson.
A celebration of Addie's life will be held Saturday, February 7, 2009, at 10:00 am, at Central Baptist Church 19 W. Shannon Ave, Spokane, WA.
Addie will be greatly missed by all who knew her, but are comforted in the fact that she is in her eternal home with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
