Joseph Macht, eldest son of Joseph and Oplanie Macht, died Dec. 17, 1954, at St. Mary Hospital, Manhattan. He was born Aug 15, 1866, at Kohler, Russia.

He was united in marriage with Elizabeth Bellinder (died Feb. 7, 1921), who proceeded him in death.

He is survived by three sons, George of Ogden, KS, Joe of Deerfield, IL, and Pete of Westmoreland: two daughters, Mrs. Kate Hasneuer of Kansas City, KS, and Mrs. Lena Prockish of Manhattan; a brother, Gottlieb Macht of Julesburg, CO; a sister, Mrs. Susan Gareis of St. George; seventeen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Two daughters, Mrs. Anna Cordts and Mrs. Margaret Artbler, proceeded him in death.

A Requiem High Mass was sung at St. Bernard Catholic Church Tuesday morning, Dec. 22, by Rev. Fr. Blaufuss, with burial in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery.

The following out of town relatives were here for funeral services for Joseph Macht Sr., last week: Mr. and Mrs. Joe Macht, Norman and Carol of Deerfield, IL; Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Richmond, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Zeigler, Val Artzer and Miss JoAnn Macht of Topeka; Mrs. Nick Zeigler, Mrs. Ray Paynter, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Ball, Mrs. and Mrs. Bernard Weixelman and Mrs. Joe Tauer of Manhattan; Mrs. and Mrs. Roy Howard, Mrs. Susan Gareis, Lena Gareis and Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gareis of St. George;
