Ethel J. Kay, 77, of 2166 Tunnel Hill, Millboro , Virginia, died Monday, August 19, 2013 at Bath Community Hospital in Hot Springs, Virginia.
She was born May 13, 1936 in Bath County, Virginia, the daughter of the late Theodore Franklin Jackson and Lucy Blake Jackson. She was married to the late Lester Harper Kay who preceded her in death on September 10, 1998.
Mrs. Kay was retired from the Homestead Resort as a telephone operator. She later worked as cashier for the Millboro General Store. She enjoyed reading, crocheting & sewing. She loved to paint. She was a loving wife, mother & grandmother.
She is survived by a son, Gordon Lee Kay & wife Sharon of Millboro, grandchildren, Anthony Kay & wife Morgan of Goshen, Virginia and Amanda Ingram of Millboro; a sister, Evelyn Hay of Prichard, West Virginia; a step-mother, Gladys Jackson of Hot Springs, Virginia; special friends, Blaine & Glenna Lawhorn of Goshen, Sharon Miller of Churchville, Virginia and Shirley Burris of Rural Retreat, Virginia.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Robert Franklin Kay; 2 half brothers, Bernard & Edgar Blake.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, August 22, 2013 at the McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home in Hot Springs with Pastor Bobby Spurgeon officiating. Interment will be in the Woodzell Family Cemetery (Rocky Ridge) private.
