Levi THOMSON was born in Coshocton county, Ohio, May 14, 1822; died Jan. 18, 1911; aged eight-eight years, eight months and five days. His father was William THOMSON, his grandfather was James THOMSON, who served in the revolutionary war under the command of Geo. WASHINGTON. The deceased was married to Susannah Grove and unto them were born eight children: Nettie STANFORD, of Bloomfield; Brown THOMSON, of Colorado, Malissa and Rebecca WRIGHT, of Ohio; Lucy LYNN, William THOMSON, Nora HEATON, of Park and Nancy HEATON, of near Sharkey. The above survive, as also do two step sons, J. P. STAGGERS, of Scotland, and Lossen STAGGERS, of Ohio, one step daughter, Mrs. Lib IRONMONGER, of Ohio, thirty-five grand children and four great-grand children. The deceased came with his family to this county in 1883 and has resided here since. His wife died July 12, 1888. Levi will long be remembered for his honest and upright ways and loving kindness to everybody he came in contact with, which won for him many friends in this county and in his old home in Ohio. His stepson, Lossen STAGGERS, in a conversation, said of him: "No more manly man ever lived than Levi THOMSON. If anyone had a will to make, or an estate to settle up he was chosen to attend to it for them. He was the administrator of one of the largest estates in Coshocton, Ohio, the personal property being worth $16,000 which he administered without the aid of lawyers, who tried to pick a flaw in his work, but which by his carefulness, they failed to find. He died in the faith of Jesus who does all things well. Blessed are the dead that die in the Lord. The funeral services were conducted by Elder J. A. Spencer last Thursday. Interment in the cemetery at Walnut Grove.
